In mid-2009, three young budding ex-youth movement volunteers and young professionals were keen to put their passions to work. All caring deeply about Israeli child poverty decided to come together to mix their talents. The rest is history.
Two of the committee members had been involved in a similar youth organisation specialising in sport. They had taken initiatives to have each of the participants bring a spare pair of shoes for children that they may have laying around the back of their closets... This was met with huge success and the idea of doing something practical for children who cannot afford these was born.
As further discussion mounted over the best platform, the three members were thinking too small and decided to set up their own charity with which any project and campaign could be financed instead of having to stick to one aim.
The most important target on their list was to look at hunger and sought to partner organisations that specialise in housing, feeding, clothing and enhancing the lives of our most vulnerable in society - children.
To make the most impact, targetting defined communities right at the outset is necessary and geographically the first target is Israel. However, the three members were keen to ensure no religious, political, ethnic or any other persuasion would be left out and hence the future could lead to anywhere in the world...
The committee are looking to expand but need the right talent and mindset to join the committee. Please do let us know if you're interested in helping out.
